Chapter History

During the summer of 2001 a group of ladies in the Maryland Area came together to form an Interest Group for Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Incorporated. These educated ladies earned degrees from various schools including: The George Washington University, Hood College, University of Maryland College Park and Rutgers University Camden. In addition, these ladies were all of diverse ethnic backgrounds including Filipino, Peruvian, Puerto Rican and African-American. Four ladies eventually went on to form the Alpha Delta Chapter the graduate chapter for the Maryland Area. The following ladies were all working women, and one was also a 40 year-old wife and mother.

These founding sisters of Alpha Delta Graduate Chapter received tremendous support from Upsilon and Beta Kappa chapters as well as the Maryland Area Alumni. It is because of these ladies and their hard work and dedication that Alpha Delta Graduate Chapter was formed in January of 2002.

On October 5, 2002 Alpha Delta Graduate Chapter became the first Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Incorporated chapter to be awarded the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO) Alumni/Graduate Chapter of the Year award.
